The riddle shared on social media states: "There's a woman in a boat on a lake wearing a coat. If you want to know her name, it's in the riddle I just wrote. What is the woman's name."
The challenge initially appeared on Threads and has accumulated over 1,800 comments from people attempting to solve it. Many became baffled and debated about which name was right.
If you're stumped, here are some useful hints. First off, bear in mind that the name you're searching for isn't your typical moniker. One key tip is to substitute words with your name to see if it assists you in working it out.
Now, initially, one might presume the solution lies in the opening section of the brain teaser "there's a woman in a boat on a lake wearing a coat" as it mentions in the second bit that the answer is in "the riddle I just wrote". Nevertheless, other people were adamant that the name is disclosed later in the puzzle and is highlighted thanks to its punctuation.

You'll spot in the image of the riddle, it says at the conclusion: "What is the woman's name." There is a full stop after name meaning that technically 'What' is the woman's name. Yet, other people contended that the puzzle suggested the name being completely different.
One person responded: "It's 'what'." However someone replied: "This makes sense but the riddle says the answer is in the riddle. 'What' isn't." Another user added: "This is poorly written. It should be 'What', but as it is written 'the riddle I just wrote,' that can't be the answer."
On the other hand, others highlighted the name could be Theresa, with the letters 'there's a' spelling out the moniker. Meanwhile others said the name could simply be 'There'.
